MY LIST OF EVERYTHING

Actor NATALIE DORMER, 37, on her favourite things

-

MY CAN’T-MISS PODCAST IS… Trees A Crowd by actor David Oakes. It’s a lovely natural-history podcast. He talks to people who are involved in, or inspired by, the natural world, like artists and conservationists.

THE CANDLE I LOVE TO LIGHT IS… Anything from Cire Trudon. I spend a fortune on those candles.

MY SIGNATURE LIPSTICK IS… I’m a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk; I tend to use it all over my lips. It’s a natural colour, but it gives a nice bit of definition. I’m not really a lipstick girl.

MY FAVOURITE INDEPENDENT SHOP IS… An Italian deli at the end of my road run by a wonderful woman called Martina. It has lovely cheeses, croissants, salamis and olive oils.

MY FOODIE WEAKNESS IS… Probably crisps and hummus. It’s my go-to. I love it with a gin and tonic.

ON TOAST I LIKE TO SPREAD… Good old-fashioned home-made marmalade. I was given some lovely quince marmalade by dear friends at Christmas, and my godmother used to make jam from fruit in her orchard.

MY FAVOURITE PAIR OF SHOES IS FROM… Crocs. I did a lot of gardening in the summer; I was out every evening taking the deadheads off my daffodils and spraying my roses. I slipped my Crocs on to do my gardening every day.

THE BOOK ON MY BEDSIDE TABLE IS… The Left Hand Of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin. With the craziness of our world at the moment, dealing with big themes with science-fiction is very cathartic.

THE BOXSET I CAN WATCH OVER AND OVER… I don’t really do that, as I’m always catching up! I’ve just started The Miracle. It’s brilliant drama.

MY FAVOURITE HOTEL FOR A WEEKEND AWAY IS… I’m more into hiring my own place. There’s a fabulous website called Unique Home Stays that I’m addicted to. They have great places and a lot of them are dog-friendly. I love it.

THE ALBUM I’LL NEVER GROW TIRED OF… David Bowie’s Let’s Dance.

THE SONG THAT GETS ME ON THE DANCEFLOOR IS… Anything Motown. MY BEST-EVER HOLIDAY WAS… At Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives. It was incredible and I did some superb scuba-diving. It was really amazing.

THE THING I CAN’T STOP BUYING FOR MY HOME IS… Plants, for indoors and out. I’m a bit gardencentre obsessed at the moment.

WHEN I WANT TO CRY WITH LAUGHTER, I CALL… My sister. She’s my little sister but an old soul.

MY FOOLPROOF DINNER PARTY DISH IS… Anything from Ottolenghi. His cookbook is my new favourite thing.
