The new glitter is...

Shimmer

-

There is something irresistible about glitter, and there’s no denying that a full-on glittery eye looks stunning on the runways and Instagram, but IRL it invariably ends up migrating into your eyes or down your cheeks. For easy-to-work-with modern sparkle, choose a shimmery metallic eyeliner. Colours? Orange, copper and rose gold tones make blue and green eyes pop, while amethyst and old gold enhance brown eyes.

Graphic lines above the socket and under the eyes are on trend, but for the most wearable take, draw the flick you’d usually do with a black eyeliner. The easiest way to flatter your eye shape, says Soh, is to look straight ahead into a mirror and draw the angle of your flick. You could leave it at that, which works especially well if you have hooded eyes, or draw a line inwards, as thin or thick as you want to go. To give the liner extra depth and also to help make drawing the shape easier, Soh suggests first using a soft pencil and then finishing with a liquid liner. Try Lancôme Hypnôse Artliner in Rose Gold Metallic, £23.50, over Nudestix Magnetic Luminous Eye Color in Immortal, £20. Then add definition with several coats of black mascara.
