FALLING IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN

As we published an article in our March issue about how to fall back in love with your partner, some of you were falling back in love with... well… us.

Debra Golding wrote us a glorious love letter. ‘I started reading Red when it was first launched in the 1990s, when I was in my early 30s,’ she wrote. ‘The slogan:

“I don’t want everything, I just want what I want” was so me, and I was intrigued to see what Red was all about.

In those days, I couldn’t afford the time or money for a subscription, or even to buy a copy regularly off the shelf every month. The read was purely for special times, such as holidays or weekend breaks. I remember treasuring the time and excitement of exploring the pages and that special indulgence the magazine gave me.

Somehow, over time, I fell out of love with Red. Life changed, my daily juggle was even harder – I worked full time, had a family and was studying for a degree. There was no time left to enjoy a magazine.

I’m now in my mid-50s and have the time again for the indulgence of a magazine. I did consider that I may now be too old to enjoy Red, but thought I would give it a go. It is, after all, what I want. So this year, I have subscribed to Red and my first edition, March, arrived a few days ago.

Once again, I am treasuring this time and, after reading your articles about the various types of love that form parts of our lives, I realised after a time away that I’d fallen back in love with Red.’ Swoon.

@Hungry_romantic The most recent issue of @Redmagdaily is one of the most wobbly-lip, wet-eye, fluttery-heart-inducing mags I’ve read in a while. @Eleanormaw Really loved @Harrietminter’s article Can You Be A Happy Reject? in this month’s @Redmagdaily. As a human being, I do not like rejection, so it was great to read that a) I’m not alone and b) it is surmountable and a part of life. Thanks Harriet! @sarahcareerlib Thought I hated 90s culture living through it, but reading this on my journey today everything @Zoetheball says is spot on, one of the most identifiable reads in a while thanks @Redmagdaily.
