THE BEAUTY INFLUENCER
RED’S BEAUTY DIRECTOR EVE CAMERON SHARES A FEW OF HER FAVOURITE NEW BUYS
À LA PARISIENNE
Sprinkling a little stardust into the world of beauty is cool French brand Les Filles en Rouje, co-founded by style icon Jeanne Damas. The threeproduct skincare line-up may be uncomplicated (there’s a cleanser, face cream and oil), but the formulations are exacting, loaded with nourishing botanicals, squalane and hyaluronic acid. The rosy glow the La Crème face cream delivers is a particular delight, while playful vintage-inspired packaging just adds to the joy.
RED ALERT
Born in Asia, reimagined on Tiktok (see Crying Girl and Cold Girl) and starring as full-bodied burgundy in Dior’s recent limited-edition Mitzah palette, the red eyeshadow trend is picking up pace. How to wear it? According to Chanel makeup artist Victoria Bond, red is super flattering when teamed with pink: ‘Keep the colour on the top of the eye – darker reds close to the lashline, no liner required, then blend pink into and just above the socket line. It will make your eyes pop, especially if they are blue or green.’ I’m trying the look with Chanel’s new eye and cheek quads, which have soft brown and rosewood tones in the mix.
BRIGHT IDEA
Knowing that yellow cancels blue, Garnier and Ole Henriksen are leaning on banana powder (finely milled powder with a primrose-yellow hue) in their latest eye brighteners, to give shadows an instant lift, while vitamin C lightens over time.
