Egg-tastic winners get their prizes

PRIZE DRAW REVEALS THE WINNER OF TOWN’S EGG HUNT

DOZENS of families joined an Easter Egg Hunt in Retford and the lucky winners have received their prizes.

Deputy Mayor, Cllr David Naylor drew the winning entries out of the prize draw box at 1pm on Saturday, March 30, at Edinburgh Woollen Mill on Carolgate in Retford.

There were three winners who collected their prizes – Sofia who won an Easter cake from Nicole Olivis Cake Designs, Isabella who took home a Hotel Chocolat vegan Nibbly Easter Egg, and Beatrice who enjoyed a Hotel Chocolat Big City Bunny.

Also Freddie took up the opportunit­y of a free week of training offered to all entrants by Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy.

Retford Business Forum thanked Pennington’s Electrical and Nicole Olivia’s Cake Designs for their sponsorshi­p, and to Retford Arts Hub, Ten Green Bottles, The Bay Tree, The Pottery, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Chameleon’s Fancy Dress, and Wonderland Bookshop for their participat­ion.

AFTER a winter of training members of the Bassetlaw triathlon club showed their hard work had paid off.

The East Leake sprint triathlon was a 400-metre pool swim, a 22km cycle route out and back and to finish a 5km run.

First male home for the club was Steve Chambers, his first event since knee surgery just a couple of months ago, in a very respectabl­e time of 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Phil Harrison, racing for the first time in club colours was next home with a time of 1 hour 11 minutes.

For the women, Lou Kelly was overall third female finishing in 1 hour and 9 minutes.

Also showing good early season form was Izzy Sheldon and Duncan McLaren.
