Master the isometric insanity

-

Jump for Joy

■ The tactic that sets Pac-mania apart from the original Pac-man is the ability to jump. This becomes integral to avoiding those evil ghosts, but it’s harder to perform successfully on later levels as your opponents get wise to your tricks.

tunnel runner

■ As in the original game, the tunnels on each side of the maze provide Pac-man with an ideal escape route when the going gets tough. Although the ghosts are also able to use these tunnels they are more reluctant than our protagonist.

prey becomes predator

■ Okay, we all know there are four Power Pills in each corner of the maze, and in Pac-mania ghosts like to follow you in chains, so the best thing to do is build up a following then lead them to their death!

risky business

■ Grabbing the bonus items in any Pac-man game is always a case of risk and reward. But this is even more prevalent in Pac-mania where you now have power-ups as well as the bonus fruits. It’s best to grab them as soon as you see them.

special circumstances

■ Watch the bottom-right corner of the screen for quick messages that pop up making you aware of special items that have appeared in the centre of the maze. You can plan your journey in order to grab them before they vanish.

Multiplier Madness

■ Just like all the other Pac-man games, your bonus multiplier increases with each ghost you eat. So try to get as many ghosts as possible in close proximity before you grab the coveted Power Pill so you get the maximum score possible.
