MORE CLASSIC MICRO MACHINES V3 MOMENTS

Get The Prize

Race wins award special prize cars, with any duplicates earned slightly increasing the stats of the owned vehicle. This ties into a special competitive multiplayer mode where you can put one of your beloved toys on the line in the hopes of winning one wagered by your opponent. Consider yourself a master of pretending to race pretend toy cars around pretend places? Then put your mini where your mouth is and see who walks away with the goods.

A Virtual Playset

The menus in V3 are among the most playful you’ll ever witness, with a tiny toy car playing the part of a cursor of sorts and navigating options laid out to form a city-like road layout not unlike the actual Micro Machines playsets many of us enjoyed as kids. Convenience is not forgotten, either – a handy Bypass option lets you jump straight back into the last played mode in case you’d rather not navigate the winding roads each time.

Peas And Cues

V3 returns to a number of iconic locations from the 2D

Micro Machines games, with great new courses in familiar settings like the pool table, breakfast table, and back garden. Each springs to life brilliantly in 3D, packed with tiny details that you’d likely miss while speeding past obstacles, but the knockout nature of the game means you should occasionally have a little downtime in which to take in the sights. And plot your revenge.

Bring The Boom

After speeding around in tiny sports cars, your first thought might be that doing the same thing in trundling tanks wouldn’t be anywhere near as satisfying. But with functioning cannons on these bad boys, there’s a shift to a more methodical and tactical kind of combat racing – do you risk slowing down to line up a direct hit on the race leader, or sit with the pack so nobody gets blown up? It’s tense, and a single well-placed shot can make or break a race.
