Plenty of early arcade companies were inspired by the success of Space Invaders and SNK was no exception.
Ozma Wars still manages to feel notably different from Taito’s outing thanks to far more varied enemy patterns, a greater selection of enemies, including meteors and spaceships, and the inclusion of a constantly depleting energy bar. You’ll lose significant amounts of energy if you collide with another ship or get shot, but you will restore some if you successfully dock with a mothership.
