There aren’t any lethal mechanical traps or eternally cursed creatures to worry about, either, so the only serious problem is the smell, or more specifically the poisonous gas.
Our Fedora-wearing hero is built of sturdy stuff, but even he can’t last more than three minutes in that environment, so finding the exit is a matter of urgency with gathering goodies being a secondary concern.
