Although In­ten­sity re­volves around a res­cue mis­sion, it also in­volves a cer­tain amount of prof­i­teer­ing. When you res­cue enough colonists, gi­ant ‘Rs’ – re­source units – ap­pear on the screen, and the ones that you col­lect can be spent on up­grades.

The aliens at­tack­ing In­ten­sity’s space sta­tions start off as fairly be­nign Spores, but they soon mu­tate into colonist-at­tack­ing Stalkers, which can then evolve into drone-tar­get­ing Nu­clons or ges­tat­ing Po­d­ules that turn into skim­mer­hos­tile Track­ers.
