CASTLEVANIA: RONDO OF BLOOD
DEVELOPER: RELEASE:
KONAMI 1993
Even though this is easily available on PS4 as part of Castlevania Requiem, the original release still manages to fetch a handsome sum online. If you do have a PC Engine and a CD-ROM add-on it’s certainly worth seeking out as it’s still worthy of your hard-earned cash thanks to its branching levels, anime-styled cutscenes and a truly marvellous soundtrack. If you’re lucky, you might be able to find a copy for around the £70 mark, but £150 is the usual price you’re likely to play. It’s more likely that the cheaper versions you see on ebay are reproductions by Pceworks. If you’re desperate to experience the game but don’t have access to a PC Engine, there’s the aforementioned PS4 version for £16.99 (digital-only, sadly) the cut-down SNES offering is grossly overrated and sells for £300 to £500 on PAL, while the Japanese offering is a better deal at £90.
