FIVE TO WATCH

Alex picks his TV highlights

-

GAMESMASTER

■ “I was only 14 years old and that was the day that changed my life,” Alex remembers of his TV show challenge. “Most humans only get one or two opportunities to go on a real life-changing situation and winning that Sonic challenge was one of mine.”

MUHAMMAD ALI

■ “I did a feature for Barry’s Joypad on a boxing game for the Mega Drive with Ali and got a pair of gloves signed by him,” Alex says. “Having a TV show when you’re a kid can make you blasé but I did realise how awesome that was at the time.”

DAVID PERRY

■ “We did a feature with ‘the other Dave Perry’ who was at Shiny at the time, and what a nice guy he was. We was ferrying me round LA in his convertible with his beautiful wife, then drinks by his pool. It was the stuff dreams are made of!”

STAR TREK

■ “I’m a huge Trekkie” Alex admits, “and for one of the last episodes of BTV we shot a feature at the Star Trek: Generations premier. I got to interview Patrick Stewart and all the stars! I was meeting my heroes and it didn’t disappoint.”

HULK HOGAN

■ “I got to interview Hulk Hogan and we had lots of fun with each other. And I did this show called Mad For It where I played Pie Boy, who would throw custard pies at kids like in Tiswas and I got to have a fight with Bam Bam Bigelow from WWE!”
