TONY HAWK’S PRO SKATER 2X

-

DEVELOPER: NEVERSOFT, TREYARCH RELEASE: 2001

■ Only serious Xbox collectors are likely to be aware of Pro Skater 2X as it was an American exclusive which launched a few short weeks before Pro Skater 3. 2X is basically a greatly enhanced version of

Pro Skater 2, which debuted the previous year. It ups the ante significantly by greatly improving the visuals, catering for four-player multiplayer games (with the ability to link two systems together for eight-player japes) and a number of exclusive levels, including a very trippy London nightclub. It also adds the campaign mode from the original Pro Skater, too, making it tremendous value for money. Fortunately, it’s relatively cheap to get hold of, with copies starting from £8. Just be mindful of postage costs as well as potential import charges, and if your machine can run it.
