What ways do you go about handling your collection?

I prefer loose copies as they tend to be cheaper and most folks pass those up – more for me. Beyond the game working, I’m not concerned with it’s physical condition. I tend to look for N64, Gamecube, and Nineties-noughties PC games that interest me.

I tend to go for items that have a personal connection, like Parker Bros Atari games or Spectrum compilations. Just about affordable and it’s fun to hunt them down.

I pretty much just go cart only these days, unless it’s a disc-based game then complete in box is kinda necessary for storage and display reasons. At this point I really only collect for the Sega Genesis and Game Boy/color though, since collecting has gotten crazy expensive.
Sonic Down Under
Always complete. Though sometimes I have multiple copies of a game because one has a better cover condition. Another has a good quality booklet. I don’t like to mix and match my games to have a complete mint one. I like them as they are, haha!
Retro Gaming Geek
I collect to have a fair representation of each console I own. The main AAA titles for a console I will target and pay for, then pick up cheaper filler titles as and when I see them. Complete is nice, but not always practical with cardboard box games.
Shanesretrogames
My preference is to buy broken/ non-working games and repair them. It is how I have built up a fair bit of my collection.

For cassettes it needs the inlay/ box – can live without instruction sheets if a rarer title. If fully complete, including shiz like badges, posters, etc. I’ll keep stuff that I wouldn’t otherwise collect.
The Lost Retro Tapes
Currently trying to collect all Edge
magazine 9 and 10s and also all
Crash Smashes. Complete collections don’t really interest me that much, I just want good games!
