BARGAIN HUNT
Your guide to the rising world of retro prices
ATARI 2600
This iconic system is Atari through and through. Prices obviously vary based on contents and condition, but an unboxed system with games starts at £45.
ROBOCOP
Sadly, you can’t buy the Spectrum version of Robocop for a dollar. The tape version ranges from £6 to £35, while the disk version can hit £20.
DISCWORLD
Complete boxed editions of the PC game are getting quite pricey and can top out at £60 if they are in perfect condition. Both the Saturn and Playstation versions tend to range in price from £35 to £65.
RAYFORCE
The Saturn version of Taito’s shmup is getting pricey. PAL and US copies (look for Galactic Attack) can hit £110 and £140, respectively. The Japanese version (known as Layer Section) can reach £55.
GEARS OF WAR
Want to know where the adventures of Marcus Fenix began? You can find out by spending £5 on the Xbox 360 version, which is quite the bargain.
CYBERNOID II: THE REVENGE
None of the 8-bit versions of Raffaele Cecco’s game should cost more than £20 and we’ve seen the Spectrum version regularly hit £8.
BLOOD OMEN: LEGACY OF KAIN
The first game in the Legacy Of Kain series is rising in price, with the PAL Playstation edition reaching highs of £50. Complete boxed copies of the PC game can sell for even higher amounts.
NEKKETSU OYAKO
If you fancy this Japanese exclusive you have two options – the Playstation version ranges from £55 to £92, while the Saturn edition ranges from £110 to £190.
CASTLEVANIA: HARMONY OF DISSONANCE
The cheapest way to experience this is digitally, via Konami’s recent compilation. If you want the real deal complete copies sell for £214. Yikes!
TRAILBLAZER
Fancy reliving Nick’s experience of Trailblazer on the Commodore 64? You’ll be pleased to know prices rarely top £20.
