Blaze Entertainment’s first Evercade cartridges of 2024 are finally with us so let’s dive in with the reviews. Fans of the Commodore 64 will be delighted with some of the titles that have been crammed onto Thec64 Collection 3. Hewson is well represented here, with highlights including
Heavy Metal Paradroid, Exolon, Cybernoid II: The Revenge, Cyberdyne Warrior and Netherworld.
The puzzler Anarchy and adventure Deliverance: Stormlord II are also included. There are four Epyx games featured in the 13-strong collection as well.
Jumpman Junior is a fun single-screen platformer,
Summer Games II is a polished sports game, Break Dance is a dull music game and Super Cycle is a brilliant riff on Hang-on. That leaves Street Sports Soccer and the excellent Boulder Dash.

The star of Indie Heroes Collection 3 is easily the slick native port of Donut Dodo (although it’s currently unplayable on the Super Pocket). The remaining 12 games are a mixed bag and include two updated games from earlier carts (Alien Cat 2 and Doodle World Returns). The platformers Orebody: Binder’s Tale and Thunder Paw and the puzzle games Chew Chew Mimic and Big2small are fun highlights. That leaves Skate Cat, Bubble Seahorse Adventures, Magic And Legend: Time Knights, Bone Marrow, The Little Tales Of Alexandria and Chibi Monster Br4wl to investigate.
Aside from Donut Dodo, both carts ran fine on the EXP, VS and Super Pocket and the usual emulation quality applies. It is starting to feel like the indie well is beginning to run a little dry, but there’s no denying you’re getting plenty of gaming for your £18.
