What is your favourite Retro Gamer feature?
Joel J Games
One of my favourites was the Bubble
Bobble cover feature from a few years back with the break down of the (many) ports.
Jeff Bone
The history of Ninja Turtles in videogames. It got me excited and ready for The
Cowabunga Collection that was coming out.
Lee Jackson
The behind the scenes feature for NIGHTS
Into Dreams in issue 45. As someone who didn’t know much about the game at the time, it was a fascinating read and one that lead me to actually buying a copy. Nowadays, it’s one of my favourite games so thanks, Retro Gamer!

One of the early issues had a feature on how to build your own arcade machine step by step. With all these mini arcades appearing perhaps a new updated feature is required? [That’s a good idea – Ed]
Robert August de Meijer
The one with Chris Crawford, such an amazing guy who meant so much to the industry and understanding of the medium!
Joe Martin
I love that Martyn Carroll reached out across the pond for my information about
Nemesis in issue 72 for the cover story.
Richard Hazeldine
For me anything that covers 8-bit (especially the C64). However, the Doom issue was a particular highlight, a literal game-changer insofar as it heralded the FPS and invented the genre.

146. The Neo Geo special. The very first issue I bought after reading about your magazine in the German Gamepro. I found your magazine when visiting a city 90km from where I live, I walked into a bookshop and hallelujah, there you are.

Issue 235 The History Of Wonder Boy feature is prob my fav as I LOVE that series and you guys hit it out of the park with the visuals. I also loved issue 170 Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Special feature. I was so blown away by your work I bought a subscription that day, that I’ve kept going since.

Matt Smith giving his insights into all the
Manic Miner levels in a semi-drunken haze really captured a nostalgic snapshot of the early years of bedroom coders.
