RiDE (UK)

ONE-YEAR REVIEW

-

I’VE USED THIS Gore-tex jacket on lots of trips in the past 12 months – in everything from 40°C heat in the Pyrenees to snow flurries in Northumberland and torrential rain in… well, pretty much everywhere. It has been excellent on every ride: it’s never leaked in the rain and the venting is really good in the heat.

It’s superbly comfortable, with a very warm and plush removable thermal liner. There’s CE Level 1 armour in elbows and shoulders plus a pocket for a back protector.

The clever bit is the way the grey panels reflect headlights at night: it’s not hi-vis, but it is genuinely visible where a black jacket wouldn’t be. I would prefer the collar to fasten with Velcro rather than magnets, but it’s still my go-to jacket - and now the price has fallen more than £100. SW
