Sharing the same short-stroke, revvy 847cc inline triple motor as the original MT-09 means the XSR gets the same full-fat (or skinny), short-geared, wheelie-prone 113bhp performance, delivered with the same instant zap, plus three-mode traction control and a choice of three throttle maps (all of which are very responsive). The XSR’S frame, suspension, brakes (with the exception of the pad compound) and geometry are also as per the first-generation MT, meaning that the riding dynamic is agile and responsive to the point of being twitchy. It is, however, a lot of fun to ride.
