The material, a shimmering grey in dull light, is totally reflective — at night they light up white when a headlight hits them, as bright as Tron’s pyjamas. They are totally waterproof but a little sweaty as they’re not very breathable. The wrists are fiercely elasticated, making it a little tricky to get them on over the last glove. I did break a drawstring on first use, but the zips seem robust. One big attraction is the price: not bad for any set of waterproofs. The other is that crazy reflective hi-vis finish – ideal for being seen on dark, wet nights.
