MV Agusta Rush 1000
Limited edition, huge price
COSTING MORE THAN three Yamaha Tracer 900s and looking like something out of a Marvel flick, the MV Agusta
Rush 1000 won’t be up many people’s stradas. It’s no better than a super naked costing half the price either but if you covet one of the 300 being made, you’ll love its speed, flamboyance and sense of occasion.
It’s superbike-quick, thanks to a 205bhp, 998cc inline-four motor that yowls like Satan in a blender but there’s little power below 7000rpm. It also has one of the sweetest front ends in the business, oozing grip and chuck-it-on-its-ear confidence and glides serenely over smooth tarmac, but it gets wild over bumps with such a stiff chassis.
The Rush 1000 is based on the Italian firm’s £27,680 Brutale 1000RR, so it has the same exquisite build, swathes of carbon fibre, designer chassis labels, deep paint, electronic gizmos and cornering LEDS. A Superveloceinspired seat unit, round headlight, spoked front wheel and carbon rear wheel cover gives the Rush 1000 its crazily unique look.
Despite its performance, the MV is surprisingly calm and civilised at low speed, which, for a bike that’s as much about cruising and looking good, is its greatest trick.
