‘Are there maintenance-free sprockets, too?’
It’s been a while since I have had a copy of RIDE and I thoroughly enjoyed the December issue. I have a question for your Garage tech people. The article about the maintenance-free chain I found intriguing but one thing kept nagging at me. What will this do to front and rear sprockets? Periodically I have had to replace them when replacing the chain. Will this be a thing of the past with this new chain?

BMW reckons sprocket life may be lengthened as well, though I suspect there will still be some wear, as it’ll be impossible to eliminate, especially once grit and salt get into the equation. MW
