WILL I NEED A DRIVING PERMIT?
No. Initially it was thought UK licence holders would need an International Driving Permit (IDP) to drive in EU and EEA countries but the requirement hasn’t materialised — valid photocard UK licences are still fine. Older paper licences, though, need a 1968 IDP to validate them (and a 1949 IDP as well, for Ireland). Whether photocard or paper/idp, you need to carry it with you at all times.
