HOW TO GET THERE

-

Luxembourg is 230 miles and under four hours from the Eurotunnel in Calais, meaning it’s closer than the start of the NC500 for anyone south of Leicester. From the tunnel, it’s a pretty simple Autoroute run along the coast towards Dunkirk, then onto the A25 to Lille, into Belgium at Tournai, Mons, then E42 to Namur, N4 to Luxembourg.

THE RIVER DANCE

Length 40 miles Best for Tracing the meanders of an epic river Route Riesenhaff — Esch-sur-sûre — Erpeldange

Love it because This route traces the whole of the River Sûre, from it’s small, almost stream-like beginnings at the Belgian border, to its Thames-like proportions near Esch-sursûre. The result is a wonderfully organic road, full of sweepers and the kind of long, openradius hairpins that would suit any bike from superbikes to big tourers. With wonderful places to stop and admire the view, it’s a joy. Take a picture at The Lutzhausen Bridge is a stunning stretch at any time of the year, especially autumn.

Stop for a cuppa at Esch-sur-sûre has a wonderful selection of cafes.
