HOW THEY COMPARE TO MORE EXPENSIVE KIT
We measured the performance of the Duchinni jacket against the Richa Cyclone Gore-tex, the runner-up of our sub-£500 jacket test and the Agrius against the Shoei GT-AIR II that won our high-end sports-touring helmet test.
Tester’s notes
The noise levels of the two helmets were remarkably similar at a steady 70mph on a clear road — with both helmets’ vents shut. However, the Shoei went up to 104.7db with them open while the Agrius didn’t change, highlighting the inefficiency of the vents.
Tester’s notes
The Richa uses a Gore-tex membrane and even at 4°C, it was possible to notice a difference. The clamminess with the Duchinni wasn’t there with the Richa. It was slightly warmer and its vents mean it can let cooling air in when the temperature goes up too.
