Drop in and see services at the centre

-

KIRKHOLT Drop-In Centre, run as part of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing’s Services, is an informal contact point for people living in the area.

It aims to support people by linking them to services and agencies and offers a base for agencies and voluntary groups to work from.

The centre runs a job club every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm, offering help and advice with creating a CV, searching for jobs online, completing job applications, setting up an email account and using a Universal Jobmatch.

The drop-in centre is also a base for the Big Local scheme, which is looking at ways to use £1 million of investment to improve Kirkholt.

It is up to residents to decide how the money is used and anyone can leave their name and contact details at the centre, in order to be added to the Kirkholt Big Local contact list and receive updates.

The centre also offers help with contacting council services, assistance with gas and electric issues, telephone calls to council services and employment advice.

Job adverts are displayed in the centre and photocopying, faxing, laminating and even dog fouling bags are available.

It also runs a Citizens Advice Bureau and provides information on the local area.

The centre is open on weekdays, 9am to 1pm, plus 2pm to 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 10 The Strand, Kirkholt.
