Supporting lifesavers

THE Mayor and Mayoress joined fundraisers in helping save lives at sea.

Rochdale Ladies Lifeboat Guild held a coffee morning at the town hall for the RNLI, with Coun Ray Dutton and his wife, Mayoress Elaine Dutton, among those tucking into tea, coffee and cakes.

Christine Clough, honorary secretary of the voluntary group, said: “The event was a great success and £700 was raised. Thank you to all.”
