TRAM CRASH

METROLINK services were suspended on part of the Rochdale line after a car collided with a tram.

Police were called to Beal Lane, near the Shaw and Crompton stop, at around 8.20am on Tuesday to reports of a crash.

The line was blocked and services were unable to run between Shaw and Crompton and Rochdale until emergency crews finished their work at the scene.

No one was believed to have been injured, police said.
