Take your place in Guitar Revolution
GUITARISTS, young or old, accomplished or complete beginners - you can’t let the opportunity to take part in Guitar Revolution pass you by.
Guitar Revolution is a piece of music made up of four parts, for an infinite number of guitars, composed by Chris Woods.
The parts range in difficulty from very simple to complex.
Players of all abilities and ages can learn the piece online for free or be tutored by Guitar Star Becky Langan at VIBE, Drake Street, Rochdale, on Thursday, March 16, at 7.30pm.
Your opportunity to perform live on stage with The Chris Wood Groove Orchestra will be in Manchester on April 28, at the Three Minute Theatre.
Chris Woods performs and records as Chris Woods Groove and The Chris Woods Groove Orchestra.
Chris is also a composer and educator who tours across the globe appearing at festivals including Glastonbury and the Mikulášsky Jazz festival in Slovakia.
Chris has carried out four extensive and successful clinic tours in Switzerland for Martin Guitars as well as Martin clinics in the United Kingdom.
His book Percussive Acoustic Guitar, published by Hal Leonard, has sold thousands of copies worldwide and is the go-to guide for contemporary percussive players.
Chris’s latest project, Guitar Revolution is creating quite a stir and is on tour this March/April.
Guitar Revolution was launched at the London Acoustic Show, at the Kensington Olympia in September 2016.
The project was a huge success, after many months of self-generated social media, with players uploading video clips of them rehearsing the piece, the event was well over-subscribed.
All the players taking part couldn’t fit in the rehearsal room, forcing Chris to run two separate rehearsals.
The performance was a success, not only because of the large number of people taking part, but also due to the profoundly positive effect it had on all of the people, both those participating and watching.
There were players of all ages and backgrounds performing together, with those who had only played for a few months alongside some the UK’s finest pro acoustic players.
