Rochdale Observer

Someone local who gets the job done

-

I HAVE been working with the Conservatives for more than 30 years and since my election in 2016 to Bamford Ward, when I received an overwhelming majority, I have helped many residents with a range of issues to try to make a difference and improve the quality of life for all.

I have actively supported the campaign to protect the green belt, spoke up against inappropriate licensing hours, helped stop the sale of Swift Road green and opposed incongruous planning, as well as the bricks and mortar daily work of getting potholes fixed, ginnels cleared and flytipping removed. I am proud also to be Shadow Portfolio for our awardwinning Adult Care service, rep on Pennine Mental Health Care Trust and a member of the Clean and Green committee supporting our tireless volunteers.

I’ve lived in Rochdale all my life. I grew up here, went to school here, made lifelong friends here, learned to skate at Roller City, camped out at Hollingworth Lake, got my first Saturday job at 16 in the library, worked as a barmaid at the Cemetery Pub and since then my career in communications has taken me all over the borough in both the private and public sectors.

I got married here 23 years ago, raised my two girls here, go to church here, shop here, go out for family meals here and walk my dog at weekends in our beautiful green spaces which I will fight to protect. I love this town – it’s my home - and I would be honoured to act as an ambassador for Rochdale people in Westminster. We’ve got such a lot going for us, Rochdale is on the up and looking fantastic. We’ve plenty of hardworking and entrepreneurial spirit and it’s important that we have a Conservative MP who will be a strong voice in Parliament to make sure that Rochdale gets the best deal from Brexit.

We need someone local, accessible and who gets the job done. Someone with pride in the borough, who ensures people see exactly what Rochdale has to offer and what a great place it is to live, work and visit. I would be honoured to be that person if you will trust me with your vote on the 8th June. Only the Conservatives can beat Labour here.

A vote for me will give Theresa May the support she needs to get a good Brexit deal and the best for Rochdale. A vote for me will protect our priceless green belt. I will work with local people and councillors of all parties to fight the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework

A vote for me will bring the pride back to Rochdale. I will be a strong ambassador for our town in Westminster.

Rochdale needs change. Rochdale deserves better. Only the Conservatives can beat Labour here. Vote Conservative on 8th June. For Rochdale/From Rochdale.
