Norden set new record

-

NORDEN created a new club record on Monday when they blasted their highest -ever total in a T20 match.

The Stags posted 253 for three at Micklehurst, who were bowled out for 86.

In all honesty it was a total mismatch, but as they say you can only play what is put in front of you.

Micklehurst had a bit of joy when Hashum Malik was caught without scoring, but from then on spectators just sat there and watched the ball flying over their heads and out of the ground.

Naveed Zamurad hit six sixes as he scored 70 off 35 deliveries.

Micklehurst might have thought the worst was over when the professional fell to a catch, but they were simply taken apart by Josh Tolley and Ash Gowers.

Gowers hit six sixes in a 36-ball 76 not out.

Tolley fell to a catch only two short of a century.

His 50 came up in 35 balls with a six. He then scored 46 off the next 9 balls he received before the one he was out to. It went 6, 6, 6, 4, 6, 4, 6, 4, 4.

Micklehurst didn’t help themselves by putting down at least four reasonable catching chances, and the day went from bad to worse for them when the batting collapsed.

Zamurad picked up five for 10 in his three overs.
