Fun day opens summer club

-

THE Exchange Shopping Centre officially launched its new kids club during the school holidays with free Nobel Prize-themed fun and games.

Last week Rochdale Exchange hosted its first Whiz Kids session of the summer, inviting children to learn all about the Nobel Peace Prize, with dovemaking, treasure hunts and the chance to meet characters Norman Nobel and Judy Cator.

Lorenzo O’Reilly, centre manager at Rochdale Exchange, said: “This was the first of five kids’ events and we are pleased that it was such a success,

“Mini experts were given workbooks to help them along the way in becoming fully-fledged whiz kids.

“Once all tasks had been completed, children had the chance to take a photo with their award to stick in their workbook.”

The centre’s Whiz Kids events will take place on various Wednesdays throughout the summer, with five free, educational crafts, games and activities sessions, on themes including peace, physics, medicine, chemistry and literature.

“Having a club for children is really important to us here at Rochdale Exchange,” he said.

“We not only wanted youngsters to enjoy their school holidays at the centre, but we also want them to continue to learn with fun games and activities. We hope Rochdale’s mini-experts had a great time and we look forward to seeing them again at our physics session on July 26.”
