Inman in for Dale

-

ROCHDALE’S latest signing is hoping he can help push the club over the line in their pursuit of a League One play-off spot in the 2017/18 campaign.

Dale have come close to landing a top-six finish in each of their three seasons in the division since promition from League Two in 2014.

And new recruit Brad Inman, who signed for the club on a season-long loan from Peterborough, hopes to make it fourth time lucky for Keith Hill’s side.

“Over the last three seasons Rochdale have almost made it into the play-offs and that’s what has driven me to this club. Hopefully I can be part of achieving the next step.

“I asked to come here on a season-long loan because I wanted to be a part of this team for the whole season, not just six months.

“The Gaffer seems likes he’s a winner and I want to play under someone like that.

“I remember playing against Rochdale last season and they were a very good team.

“Playing against Rochdale over the years, it has always been a tough place to come to – not many of the lads used to like coming here, so I’m excited about working with the Gaffer and the lads.”

The Australian-born 25-year-old came through the youth ranks at Newcastle United before joining Crewe in 2013 having previously enjoyed a successful loan spell at Gresty Road.

Last summer he signed for Posh but broke his leg in pre-season, curtailing his chances of regular first team football.

But the goalscoring midfielder insists he’s fit and raring to go.

“I’ve put the injury behind me and I’m fully fit now, so hopefully I can have a good pre-season and a good start to the season and help Rochdale push on.”

Inman gets an opportunity to chalk off a new ground on the opening day of the campaign when Dale travel to newly-promoted Portsmouth.

“Because they’re newly promoted, they’re going to want to start the season well,” he said.

“They’ve got a good fan base at Fratton Park, so I’m sure it’ll be an interesting game.

“I was excited when I saw we were away at Pompey on the opening day because I’ve never played there before, but to be honest, I’m just excited about every game we’ll play this season.”
