Family pays tribute to victim of horror crash
THE family of a motorcyclist who died in a horror smash involving three cars have paid tribute to him.
Rochdale warehouse worker Karl Hope, 25, was riding his Kawasaki motorbike along Chadderton Way, in Oldham, when it collided with two cars on Friday, September 29.
Mr Hope was then thrown into a third car, a green Ford Fiesta.
The Fiesta drove off after the collision and police are searching for the driver.
Mr Hope was taken to hospital with multiple injuries, but died a short time later.
His family have since released an emotional tribute to him.
The tribute said: “A son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and friend, whose uniqueness was only matched by the love with which he would show to those not only close to him, but each and every individual he met in life.
“Karl leaves behind him, in this most tragic of times, people who will hold close to them and cherish each and every special occasion they had the fortune of sharing with him.
“Words will never truly be able to do justice to how much of an important piece of our lives he was and he will stay with us in each of our passing thoughts from now until the time comes when we may see him again.
“Although all life is special, there were few, if any, whose were as noteworthy as Karl’s was and forever will be to us.”
Mr Hope had been living with his girlfriend in Oldham town centre.
The collision took place at around 5.20pm on Friday as Mr Hope was riding to work at the JD Sports warehouse in Rochdale.
It is believed his black Kawasaki motorbike first hit the back of a black Mercedes-Benz before it crashed into a black Mini.
He was then thrown into the green Ford Fiesta.
Tributes to the motorcyclist have also been paid to Mr Hope on Facebook.
Mike Brooks posted: “RIP Karl. I’ll miss you mate. You were an awesome guy.”
Steven Collingwood said: “RIP Karl, ride hard with the angels. My thoughts to all the family. Gone too soon.”
