ABOUT BREAD AND COOKER

To the editor of the Rochdale Observer.

It makes nice pudding when softened and mashed and mixed with a little flour and shortening and milk and water, then boiled in a pan of vegetable hash - cut up vegetables and potatoes boiled in their skins after a thorough cleaning. Any or all of these vegetables are tasty - turnips (which Wesley said cured any ●●There was bad news from the front line about (from the left) Private W Foulds, Private E Holt and Private J Smith disease), carrots, cauliflower, parsnips, onions, leeks, beets, celery, apples etc, seasoned with sweet herbs.
