Approach made me so proud of our club

-

THE Rochdale supporters were delighted with their side’s heroics at the Crown Oil Arena last weekend, and lifelong fan Michael Grant hopes the team can replicate that success in the league. I WAS immensely proud of how well we approached the whole match.

It would have been easy for us to sit with 10 men behind the ball for 90 minutes, which wouldn’t have made for a great spectacle really.

The lads were absolutely fantastic, especially first half where you wouldn’t really know which team was in the Premier League if you didn’t already know.

We attacked Spurs from the off and didn’t give them any time at all on the ball, the lead we took into half time was greatly deserved.

Just when we thought it wasn’t quite going to be our day we come back fighting with a 93rd minute leveller, sending the Crown Oil Arena into raptures.

Where that extra energy came from I’ll never know!

Getting to play at Wembley again is brilliant, it’s been almost 10 years since we last visited, and I’m very much looking forward to going again this time around for what will be a great occasion no matter what the result.

The effort from the whole team that’s seen us get the furthest we’ve ever been in the FA Cup has really impressed me, and I hope that the form shown in the cup can soon be replicated in the league too.

We have a lot of games in hand, mostly at home too, now is the time for the town to get behind the team again as they did on Sunday and show the lads some much needed support in our battle to avoid the drop.
