ANEW website has been launched with local information about support services available in the Rochdale borough.

‘Our Rochdale’ is a brand new one-stop website offering information about local health and social care services, childcare and support that is available locally.

The new site replaces and builds on the former Rochdale family services directory and forms an extensive local resource that has interactive functions to allow users to work out a bespoke support plan for themselves and their family.

It will provide support for residents in making informed decisions about their health and wellbeing and will help direct users to the most appropriate services for their individual circumstances.

Sally McIvor, director of commissioning said: “Local people told us that they weren’t aware of the wide range of services that were available to them in the borough, as a result of this ‘Our Rochdale’ has been created using money allocated to us through the Greater Manchester transformation fund.

“The aim of the new ‘Our Rochdale’ website is to make information about health and social care services more easily available for local people when they need it.

“Alongside health and wellbeing services, this free resource includes regularly updated details of services for children and young people aged 0-25 years with individual needs, as well as general support for children and families in Rochdale borough.

“You can also find information and advice about adult social care, including groups, activities and events.”

The new website is being advertised across the borough in a variety of outdoor advertising spaces and in the local newspapers, as well as in public buildings such as libraries.

Details of the community connectors teams will be available in GP surgeries and in other community venues to allow professionals to refer people in to the service.

Website users are invited to provide views and opinions using the feedback option on the site home page.
