Care home is given top marks
ADISABLED care home has been rated ‘outstanding’ by inspectors.
Bosses at The Mews, near the town centre, have spoken of their pride after the home, which cares for young adults with disabilities, was given top marks by watchdog the Care Quality Commission.
The CQC report praised the home for its exceptional quality of care, innovative delivery of services and supportive team of dedicated staff.
Inspectors also hailed the home’s excellent use of modern technology to support people’s independence and privacy.
And staff were lauded for their kind, caring and patient approach with residents and for creating a safe and welcoming environment.
The nursing home, in Fenton Street, provides nursing care and accommodation for up to 50 residents with disabilities. It is owned by East and West Healthcare who took it over 18 months ago.
Manager Martin Donovan said: “I am incredibly proud of our excellent team of staff. To gain the accolade of outstanding at a large and busy younger disabled nursing home is no small feat. Our dedicated and tireless team should be extremely proud of what they have achieved.”
Azad Choudhry, chairman of East and West Healthcare Ltd, said: “We are extremely proud of our staff, as this could not have been achieved without their continuous commitment ●●The Mews care home in Fenton Street has been rated outstanding by the CQC.
