MORE acts have been added to the line-up for this year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival.

Expect foot-stomping tunes, northern melancholy and uplifting feel good anthems from new band Last Race Home who will be taking to the stage this August.

Featuring harmonicas, trumpets, infectious guitars and lots of vocals the Manchester five-piece outift are rapidly establishing themselves thanks to a series of shows and festivals across the region.

Also on the bill are Manchester-based band KAZE.

The band - Amy Webber and Graham McCusker - have been played on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Manchester, BBC Radio Scotland and were supported by BBC Introducing last year. Hailed as “fresh-sounding, future-facing” by BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson they released their debut EP, No Filter in 2017.

Indie pop trio High Wyre, BBC Introducing’s first Band of the Week in 2018 will also be on the main stage. The band, who’ve been played on every BBC local radio station in the UK are from Garstang in Lancashire.

And after a 10-year break, Rochdale indie dance funk band The Alchemists have reformed to celebrate the life of ex-band member Bob Fell from Castleton and will be performing upbeat 90s classics on the main stage.

Coun Janet Emsley, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture, said: “Rochdale is gearing up for the party of the summer and we are working hard to make it another one to remember.

These four superb acts join an already incredible line-up and we have lots more exciting announcements to make about our family entertainment, food and drink, and of course another local band will be winning a main stage slot following our Battle of the Bands competition.”

Last Race Home, KAZE, High Wyre and The Alchemists will be joined by previously announced headliner Feeder, Britpop legends Cast, ska music stars The Uplifters, country singer Emily Faye, new band Last Race Home, pop rock duo The Curious Incident, international songstress Anna Pancaldi, R & B singer KS Roosevelt, new Manchester band VALA and a local battle of the bands winner.

Rochdale Feel Good Festival is on Saturday 18 August, for a showcase of entertainment, food and culture. There will be live music across indoor venues, a main stage against the backdrop of the town hall, a quality food and drink court plus family entertainment.

The festival is funded by the council together with sponsorship from The Flying Horse Hotel, Premier Kia, The Wellington gastro pub, 02 Rochdale, The Royal Toby hotel and other local businesses.
