Norden target place in cup semis

IT’S Worsley Cup quarter-final action this afternoon in the Lancashire League, with Norden flying the flag for Rochdale teams.

They face a tough tie against Ramsbottom, who are currently fourth in the league, one place above Norden. Other quarter-final matches see Crompton take on Darwen, Ramsbottom go to Todmorden while Rishton are home to Burnley.

It’s a busy weekend for Norden, as they were also in T20 action last night (Friday) when they entertaine­d Ramsbottom.

Other T20 matches taking place on Friday saw a clash between local rivals Bacup and Haslingden, while Rawtenstal­l hosted Middleton.

The Lancashire League matches take place tomorrow with Norden taking on leaders Walsden at Scott Street.

Ramsbottom head to Redbrook to take on Rochdale.

Littleboro­ugh will be looking for an upturn in fortunes when they take on Church take on at Blackburn Road.

Bacup head to Dill Hall Lane to face Enfield, Rawtenstal­l are at taking on Todmorden, while Haslingden welcome Accrington.

Darwen face Burnley at Birch Hall. East Lancashire head to Liverpool Road to face Lowerhouse.

Middleton face Crompton at Towncroft. Clitheroe face Milnrow at Ladyhouse. Nelson go up against Great Harwood at Seedhill, while Rishton take on Colne at Blackburn Road.
