●»CRAFTS AND MORE AT PEOPLE’S HISTORY MUSEUM
Families are encouraged to ‘get cutting and sticking to create something that represents you or your ideas worth fighting for’ at the People’s History Museum.
Join in activities at the craft table and be inspired by the current exhibition Represent! Voices 100 Years On, which reflects on those who campaigned for better representation; most famously the suffragists and the militant suffragettes.
Activities are suitable for all ages and run from July 19 to September 2 and the museum’s open daily from 10am to 5pm.
Every Wednesday in the school holidays it’s hosting Make Your Mark creative workshops between 1pm and 3pm. Tickets are free but places need booking online .
And on Saturday, August 11 there’s a Beeing Special fun interactive story session with puppets, song, dance and a craft activity between 11am and 12pm.
The Little People’s History Museum activity is suitable for under fives and their grown ups. Tickets will be made available a week before the event on the website .

●»TERRIFIC TUESDAY BY THE SEA AT MANCHESTER CATHEDRAL
The stunning cathedral is hosting Terrific Tuesdays By the Sea throughout the holidays.
These are free family activities with a seaside flavour and are running each Tuesday from July 24 to August 28.
Resources are supplied on a first come, first served basis and each session has a different theme.
They’re running from 10am until 12.30pm, except for Tuesday, August 7 when the special Sing the Cathedral - Under the Sea sessions run from 10am to 11.15am and again from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
The venue is also home to 20 bees as part of Bee in the City Trail and there’s a free Explorer Trail running at the cathedral throughout the holidays.

●»JOHN RYLANDS LIBRARY
There are plenty of childfriendly workshops on at the popular John Rylands this summer.
Sessions include Rainbows, Stars and Flying Horses - 25 July, 1 Aug, 8 Aug, 15 Aug, 22 Aug - where families can see the 19th century printing press come to life.
Inspired by the Alchemy of Colour exhibition they’ll be printing ‘beautiful images with an amazing rainbow twist.’
Workshops are aimed at children aged four plus, they’re free and there’s no need to book.
Others include Collection By Candlelight: Collection Encounter - 31 July, 9 Aug, 25 Aug, 26 Aug - for ages seven plus, where children can enjoy some of the most exquisite gold decorated pieces displayed in the manner in which they would have originally been seen - illuminated by candlelight.
And there’s a Shimmer and Shine window workshop - 2 Aug and 23 Aug for ages four plus, where kids can use colourful papers and textures to make their own ‘stained glass window.’
Toddler Tales are also running for under fives on August 2 and August 23.

●»SALFORDTHE HIVE AT LOWRY OUTLET
The Lowry Outlet is joining in the buzz of the Bee in the City Trail with its own Hive event in August.
The event is running from August 3 to 6 and will feature a honeycomb maze filled with birds, bees and butterflies.
Children can explore the garden while learning about the environment and important ecological messages and get crafty making their own bug hotel to take home.
Families will also be able to take a piece of The Hive home too as children’s charity Fairy Bricks will be selling Lego bees for £5 each. The Hive will be open from 10am to 5pm.
The outlet is also home to one of the 100 gigantic bees making up the Bee in the City Trail.
The design of the sparkling ‘Beedazzle,’ by Maria Shrigley, was inspired by the bright lights and vibrancy of Manchester’s streets, as well as the sparkle in the eye of every Mancunian.

●»WHAT THE LADYBIRD HEARD, THE LOWRY THEATRE
If you fancy treating the little ones to some theatre this summer then you could take them along to see one of Julia Donaldson’s best sellers brought to the stage.
What The Ladybird Heard, by Donaldson and Lydia Monks, comes to The Lowry from August 1 to 26 as part of a major UK and international tour direct from the West End.
The show lasts for 55 minutes and features original songs, live music, puppetry, plenty of audience participation and lots of laughs and is billed as ‘the perfect treat for families with children aged three and up.’For tickets, from £16, visit the website .

●»MRS TOMLINSON’S SWEET SHOP, LARK HILL PLACE
Mrs Tomlinson’s sweet shop will be open for business every Friday throughout the school holidays.
Pick up some old fashioned sweets on the Victorian street where visitors can hear the sounds of horse-drawn carriages as they explore shops and houses including a chemist, grocers, a blacksmiths and an artisan’s cottage.
Admission is free and the shop is open from 10am to 12pm and then 1pm to 3pm.
