Dale brew up charity winner
ROCHDALE AFC’s first ever Macmillan Coffee Day proved to be a huge success.
Held at the Crown Oil Arena, Dale In The Community Trust’s ‘Silver 60s’ group raised almost £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The Dale first team squad and management attended, donating to the cause and enjoying cups of coffee and a chat with the group’s members
Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee morning took place on Friday, with all donations to the Coffee Day at the club going to Macmillan.
Cakes and biscuits were donated by those who attended, as well as a number of prizes for a raffle. Dale’s Silver 60s is open to senior citizens in the Rochdale borough, with activities such as walking football/netball, mat bowls, cards and they are always looking to welcome new members.
The group takes place between 1pm-3pm every Wednesday with free transport available to those wishing to attend as well as refreshments throughout the day.
To register interest, contact Keith Hicks, head of community, on 01706643836 and 07958593121, or email keith.hicks@rochdaleafc. co.uk.
