Dalians show no signs of slow­ing at top

THERE was lim­ited ac­tion in the Pre­mier divi­sion but Rochdalians marched on re­lent­lessly at the top of the ta­ble, pre­serv­ing their 100 per cent record and ex­tend­ing their lead to five points over Mil­ton as they won 8-2 at Old Ash­to­ni­ans.

It is much closer in divi­sion two as Hoo­ley Bridge Celtic took over at the top with a vi­tal point in an ex­cel­lent 3-3 draw at Swin­ton.

Ir­lam Tigers stay in the mix with a com­fort­able 6-3 home win over AFC Old­ham and Parrs Wood Celtic look a real threat as they won 11-1 at Old­ham Vics.

The other two games saw the points shared as Bury Ams drew 3-3 with Chorl­to­ni­ans and Dids­bury drew 2-2 host­ing Sto­co­ni­ans.

New­ton kept up their 100 per cent record at the top of divi­sion two as they grafted out a 2-1 derby over Holling­worth.

Manch­ester Polo­nia moved into sec­ond spot with a 3-0 win at Rochdalians sec­onds which keeps them level on points with Whal­ley Range sec­onds who beat Mel­lor sec­onds by the odd goal in five..

It was hon­ours even in the lo­cal derby be­tween Chorl­to­ni­ans sec­onds and South Manch­ester sec­onds in a 3-3 dead­lock.

No prob­lems for Spur­ley Hey in a 9-4 romp against San­tos.

With divi­sion three lead­ers Sig­nol Ath­letic in cup ac­tion Chad­der­ton Park took full ad­van­tage to close the gap at the top to two points with a 4-2 win over Mil­ton sec­onds.

Al­der­mere kept level with them as they ac­counted for Heaton Mersey.5-3.

Duk­in­field Ath­letic lost out in a nine goal thriller against 100 per cent Rad­clyffe 4-5 with the Ath­letic goals com­ing fromLiam Gre­gory (three) and Karl Far­rell.

Plenty of goals in the other games with Sto­co­ni­ans sec­onds beat­ing Sal­ford Vics sec­onds 8-3 and Mel­lor thirds with a 5-3 win over Vil­lage Manch­ester.

El­ton Lib Har­g­reaves are out on their own in divi­sion A with a 5-0 win over Spur­ley Hey sec­onds tak­ing them four points clear of Mos­ton Brook sec­onds who were held 3-3 in their lo­cal derby with Chad­der­ton Cott.

Duk­in­field Ath­letic sec­onds beat AFC Old­ham sec­onds 4-2 with the goals pro­vided by Chris Mered­ith (two), Andy Pe­trenko and Dy­lan Wha­ley with their Mom be­ing Matty Tarr.

Draw spe­cial­ists Uni­corn Ath­letic did it again as they drew 2-2 at Rochdale Gal­axy and an­other close af­fair saw Traf­ford United sec­onds with 2-1 at Sig­nol Ath­letic sec­onds.

Old Strets sec­ond stay well clear of the pack in divi­sion B af­ter wal­lop­ing AFC Stock­port 8-1.

Early goals from Matthew Hignett, Jamie Camp­bell and Danny Cad set up the win for Strets.

AFC Old­ham thirds were also con­vinc­ing vic­tors by 4-0 over Bury Ams sec­onds and they move into joint third place with Hill­gate who lost 3-0 to Parrs Wood Celtic who moved above them into sec­ond spot.

The other three games were close con­tests with wins for Mos­ton Brook thirds by 4-3 at Hoo­ley Bridge Celtic sec­onds and Staly Lions by 3-2 over Dids­bury and shar­ing six goals were Chad­der­ton Cott sec­onds and Chorl­to­ni­ans Ath­letic.

Holling­worth sec­onds kept up their bright start in the L and C as they stay top of divi­sion D with a 4-2 win over Chad­der­ton Park sec­onds.

Keep­ing pace with them are Go­van Ath­letic with a 6-3 win over Mos­ton Brook fourths and Deans who kept an im­mac­u­late clean sheet in a 4-0 win over pre­vi­ously un­beaten Old Stret­for­dians thirds.

Ir­lam Tigers sec­onds won 2-0 at Chorl­to­ni­ans Al­bion and Bury Ams A won 3-1 at Sto­co­ni­ans fourths.
