BUSINESSES across Rochdale will have the chance to pitch for business with big public sector organisations at a Meet the Buyer event.

At Rochdale Town Hall on Thursday, November 22, managers and business owners will be able to speak directly to buyers from companies including STAR procurement, the shared service for Stockport, Trafford, Tameside and Rochdale councils, as well as Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, hopwood Hall College and the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group.

Meet the Buyer events help to match goods and services offered by businesses with purchasing teams from companies looking to buy in sectors including construction and demolition, IT, CCTV installation and maintenance and facilities and estate management.

Coun John Blundell, cabinet member for regeneration at Rochdale council, said: “Big organisations like councils have huge buying power and are always looking to keep spend local wherever possible, so this is a great opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses to sell their goods and services on a big stage.”
