VOL­UN­TEERS are needed to run a Scout group which is be­ing re­vived in Syke.

The group is set to re­open at Syke Com­mu­nity Base and a team of lead­ers is needed to get it up and run­ning again.

The Fourth Rochdale (Syke) Scout Group is planned to re­open in spring 2019, with a view to start­ing sec­tions for Beavers, aged six to eight years, Cubs, aged eight to 10-and-a-half, and Scouts, aged 10-and-a-half to 14.

Scouts dis­trict com­mis­sioner for Pen­nine, Alan Sharkey, said: “We need vol­un­teers to put Syke Scout­ing on the map again. We have a va­ri­ety of roles to of­fer, and there re­ally is some­thing for ev­ery­one.”
