Phoenix edged at Kingsway

KINGSWAY Phoenix ‘B’ played Tottington at Kingsway Park High School. Although the score ended up at six games for Kingsway Phoenix and 12 games for Tottington, there were a lot of very close games that Kingsway Phoenix just could not finish off.

The difference in points of 315 to Kingsway Phoenix and 369 to Tottington shows how close a lot of games were, but in the end the better team won.

Karl Greenhaugh won all six of his games and Steve Ingham four for Tottington. The best showing for Kingsway Phoenix was Min Liow and Philip Turner who won four each, two games of which were played together.

A good night of tough badminton played in the spirit of the game.

A local Oldham derby between Kashmir ‘A’ and Oldham ‘A’ was played at The Radclyffe School.

Kashmir ‘A’ won by 12 games to six but again the overall points difference of Kashmir ‘A’ 341 and Oldham ‘A’ 310 is less than two point per game.

An evening of hard fought games led to the best team on the night winning. The best showing on the night for Kashmir ‘A’ was Nabeel Rehman winning all six of his games and Imran Khan winning five (four games won together as partners).
