999 bosses offer meeting

-

AMBULANCE bosses have offered to meet the pensioner after a 999 call was incorrectly categorised.

Following an investigation, Ambulance chiefs admitted the call had been incorrectly prioritised and have offered to meet Chris to discuss the matter further.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), said: “We would firstly like to send our best wishes to Mr Tyrrall and his son and hope he is making a full recovery.

“Mr Tyrrall’s complaint regarding the delay in the ambulance response was taken extremely seriously by the trust and a full investigation has taken place.

“The investigation’s findings did show that the call had been incorrectly categorised.

“A copy of the findings was sent to Mr Tyrrall and the trust apologised for the incorrect categorisation and offered to send a representative to meet with him to discuss this, however this offer has not yet been accepted. We would still be happy to arrange this if he would like us to do so.

“In the original complaint, there was no mention made by Mr Tyrrall of feeling that he was spoken to rudely or disrespectfully and we are sorry that he feels that to be the case.

“This is something we would again be happy to discuss with him if he wishes to take up our offer of a meeting.”
