Co-op’s finance boost for rugby league foundation

-

A RUGBY league team foundation has been given nearly £4,000 for their ongoing work in the community - thanks to a public vote.

The Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation were presented with a cheque for £3,991.85 from the Co-op as part of their ongoing charity work.

Organisations that receive funding are chosen by the Co-op customers and the wider public by voting in store and online. A spokesperson for the foundation said: “The Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation would like to put on record our gratitude to the Co-op, who recently presented us with a donation of nearly £4,000.

“We have worked closely with the Co-op and been the beneficiary of their financial support for many years, and we are proud to see two of Rochdale’s finest creations still helping each other.

“Our thanks go as well to members of the Co-op who contributed to this huge sum, which will go a long way to helping us keep up our good work with the people of Rochdale.”

The funds will go towards the Foundation’s programme of trying to get more people playing Rugby League through increased exposure to the game.
