AN up and coming young dance star swept the board by winning four freestyle competitions and contemporary dancer of the year.

Jessica Butterworth, of Turner’s Dance Studio in Rochdale, won the under-16 Championship class contemporary, solo, and slow dance competitions as well as contemporary dancer of the year - which earned her a trophy almost as big as her!

The latest competition was held in Hindley, Wigan and involved dance schools and young dancers from all over the country.

Due to Jess’s outstanding success she has been chosen, by her teacher, renowned dancer and performer, Paul Michael Jones, to assist in a brand new contemporary/lyrical class at Turner’s, starting in the new year.

This is a paid role and will involve Jess, 15, demonstrating different moves and techniques to help, encourage, and inspire the next generation of dancers.

As well as being hugely talented in contemporary and freestyle dancing, Jess, who lives in Bacup, also trains in Latin American, Ballroom, and Hip-hop, as well as dabbling in theatre too.
