Fashion show raises vital funds
A MULTICULTURAL fashion show and auction has been held to raise money for charity.
The Brownhill Learning Community and the Hebron Pentecostal Church in Rochdale held a fashion show for charity – giving staff, guests and parents the opportunity to strut their stuff on the catwalk.
The models were all wearing clothes that were to be later auctioned for charity.
The proceeds from the sale of clothes – which took place on Wednesday, December 5 – were split between the Brownhill Learning Community and the El Shaddai charity, which runs homes and shelters for street orphans in the Indian city of Goa.
Rochdale’s mayor Coun Mohammed Zaman attended the event alongside Mayoress Naaira Zaman.
Jackie Robinson, community development officer for Brownhill, said: “We are pleased to say altogether we raised a total of £461.05.
“The event was a multicultural one and everyone had an amazing evening.
“I would like to thank everyone who made the evening a great success.
“We are looking at making this an annual event to raise money for another charity.”
